Dan Jenkins, DDS is a general dentist providing all phases of dental services to all ages. He has been treating families for more than 30 years. His goal is to provide the best dental care possible in a comfortable environment for the patient. It is through a combination of Dr. Jenkins' years of experience and the use of modern technology that his goal is pursued. Dr. Jenkins keeps up with the newest techniques through his continuing studies of research papers, classes, seminars, workshops, study clubs, research with dental manufactureres and through his participation with the American Dental Association,(www.ADA.org), the California Dental Association,(www.CDA.org), the local Tri-County Dental Society, (www.TCDS.org), the International Association of Comprehensive Aesthetics, (IACA), (www.theIACA.com), and the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies, (LVI), (www.LVIglobal.com).
Dr. Jenkins has been in private practice for more than 30 years and worked for dental corporations for almost three years helping them develop training and education for other dentists. He has devised and helped in the design of several dental devices and procedures that are in use today by all dentists. He still lectures to fellow dentists about new techniques he has developed in order to aid in better care for all dental patients.
Dr. Jenkins continues in research for the prevention and treatment of TMJ, (jaw joint), pain. He also is involved in research of lasers used in dentistry with the Biolase laser corporation.
Dr. Jenkins also has volunteered his time and expertise in various ways over the years. He has provided volunteer dentistry in the countries of Haiti, Dominican Republic, and for Mexico in the cities of Mexico City, (after the 1984 earthquake), Obregon, and Tijuana. He also routinely volunteers his time with the free dental clinics of the local Tri-County Dental Society. He is a trainer for the First5 organization lecturing to other dentists as well as medical professionals on the prevention of dental caries, specifically for children 5 years of age and younger. Dr. Jenkins also donates his time as the editor for the IACA. (He completed the requirements for, and has the honor of designation as a Certified Dental Editor by the American Association of Dental Editors.) He has even served as a city councilman for a small city!
Dr. Jenkins is a member of, and donates his time to the Women in Need charitable organization, (WIN), which aids victims of abuse with counselling centers and repair of physical abuse. He is also one of the select group of dentists approved for providing smile makeovers for the contestants in the international Mrs. Globe beauty pageant. He has participated as a judge in the pageant! Proceeds from the Mrs. Globe pageant go to the WIN, (www.womeninneed.org.) organization. Dr. Jenkins is married to Shirley. They have 6 children and 5 grandchildren, (pictures gladly shown!). He is a Navy Viet Nam veteran having served as a Radioman first class. After being discharged from the Navy he studied for and received his Bachelor and his Doctor of Dental Surgery, (DDS), degree from Loma Linda University in Loma Linda California. During his college years he worked in the ICU units of Corona Community Hospital and Loma Linda University Medical Center as a Nurses Assistant.
Dr. Jenkins' interests are varied but have included photography, scuba diving, woodworking, playing the guitar, singing, motorcycles, gardening, counted cross stitch, reading about any topic, snow skiing, racquetball, traveling, operating a bulldozer/backhoe, walking, and even walked the 20th Los Angeles Marathon in 2005.
